It’s been a while since my wife and I spent a whole year living in one country … which is exactly what we did in 2015.
That said, it was still a busy year.
Carrie and I lived in 3 different zip codes, road tripped around America and spent a month apart while I volunteered in China.
Naturally, I chronicled every step with my camera.
Living on Endor
I’ve dreamed of living in a treehouse on the planet Endor since seeing Return of the Jedi in 1983.
Moving to Monte Rio was the next best thing.
For 10 months, my wife, Carrie, and I lived in a house nestled in between the redwood trees.
Wooden walkways and stairs connected the levels, while our dogs served as the resident Ewoks.
Meanwhile, down below, the Russian River made its way through wine country, as we explored the forest, ocean and beyond.
Community
Life is all about connections, relationships and sharing this amazing journey with those we love.
In 2015, I was thrilled to photograph some of the most special people around.
If you live in Northern California, I would love to photographYOU!
China
I was honored when the Alliance for Smiles asked me to serve as their team photographer during a medical mission to China.
For two weeks, I observed a team of skilled doctors provide free life-changing cleft lip and palate surgeries to 75 impoverished children.
Once the mission ended, I treated myself to another few weeks of exploring China. It was great to get out and experience the countryside, but I sure did miss Carrie!
Baseball
Baseball is my passion, and I was able to make it to games in three different MLB stadiums this season.
Even more importantly, my beloved New York Mets made it to the World Series. Next year, we win it all!!!!
While I love making images with my big and heavy dSLR, the camera I use most is the iPhone in my pocket.
With that in mind, be sure to follow my Instagram feed.
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2016!
