The UK is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, welcoming over 30 million visitors each year. This is not a surprise, given its myriad of breathtaking sights, whether it’s the astonishing peaks of Ben Nevis or the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. So, if you’re traveling for photography, the UK is definitely the best destination for you. Below are some of the best ways on how to travel within the UK for photography. 

Hiking Holiday

Photographers who love adventures should consider taking the UK Three Peaks Challenge, one of the most popular hiking adventures in the world. Conquering these peaks might pose many challenges, but it will take you to some of the best views that the UK has to offer, and a dream for many photographers.

The challenge requires hikers to summit all three peaks within 24 hours. But if you want to fully enjoy the view without the pressure of finishing your hike in 24 hours, feel free to take it slow. In fact, it’s highly recommended that you book a stay in one of the characteristic independent cottages which are available in advance or at the last minute, so you can make the most of your adventures and take many pictures.

Sail the from Northumberland to Northern Ireland

Set sail on an epic photography adventure from the remote wilderness of Northumberland to the coast of Northern Ireland. During your journey, you’ll have the wonderful opportunity to photograph beautiful scenes of nature, such as the beautiful coastline of Farne Islands and Antrim’s scenic causeway. And if you’re visiting for a photo holiday, taking the steam train is one of the best ways to capture the country’s unspoilt sceneries. Some of the most photogenic routes are the West Highland Line from Fort William to Mallaig, the Ffestiniog and the Welsh Highland Railways, and the North Norfolk Railway.

Taking a Narrowboat through Oxfordshire

If you want to capture the wonderful sceneries along the Oxford canal, then take a narrowboat tour, which starts by the River Thames and runs to the quiet countryside. Be ready with your camera as your boat meanders through the wondrous scenery of the world-famous City of Oxford and flows through the old canal village of Thrupp while passing the magnificent Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill.
