Vrooom! Rooooar! Wooosh!
What’s that sound? It’s the famous Blue Angel fighter jet squad.
But where are they?
Hidden behind a wall of fog, of course! You are in San Francisco, after all.
Fleet Week in San Francisco
San Francisco’s annual Fleet Week is one of the most anticipated events in the City.
Celebrating the Bay Area’s rich naval tradition, Fleet Week honors the men and women serving in today’s armed forces.
In addition to public events, the Navy and Marines perform annual disaster preparedness training with local first responders.
Plus, according to every woman I know, “it’s a great time to see men in uniform.”
Where to Photograph (or just watch) the Blue Angels
To photograph the Blue Angels flying above the San Francisco Skyline, take the Golden Gate Bridge to Fort Baker.
If you want a classic head-on photo of the Angels above the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands is where you want to be.
However, if you don’t have a car or would rather stay in San Francisco, I suggest trying Coit Tower, Fort Mason, Marina Green Park or Fisherman’s Wharf.
Just be ready for crowds; wherever you go.
Would you ever want to fly a plane?
