Sometimes it pays to hire a private driver instead of just hopping on the bus.

For example, while traveling in China, I really wanted to photograph some of the cities along the Li River.

Bending and curving like a snake, the Li River cuts across the Guangxi region’s towering peaks (called Fengs, in Mandarin).

While it’s easy to get to and from the bigger cities (like Yangshou), public transportation does not stop at any of the lookout points along the way.

Fortunately, I treated myself to a taxi and paid extra for the driver to stop at all his favorite photo spots.

Why figure it out myself when someone else can make my life that much easier!
