Gratitude Journal: Day 24
November 26, 2020

Well. I finally did it. I missed a day of posting.

On Thanksgiving, ironically, I didn’t make time to publish my gratitude journal.

That said, I did write the list out yesterday. I planned to stay up and publish it. AND, it was a really long day and I decided my body deserved a good night’s sleep.

Sounds like an easy enough decision, but it did take me a while to accept as I lay there in bed – dreaming – woken up by Bodhi saying something – dreaming – woken up by something else – dreaming …

1️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Nancy and Worth Howe and the Main Street Theatre and Dance Alliance because my years of acting and stage managing gave me an incredible sense of self confidence during a time in my life when not many other things did.

Me as Chief Brown Bear in “Little Mary Sunshine.” I was 11.

2️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Grandpa Murray because he inspired my love of having a business desk with rubber band balls, calculators with long tapes coming out of them, and paper weights issued by local banks.

3️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Grandpa Moses because he inked some of my favorite comics (Flash, Justice League, Mighty Mouse) and because we had this one running joke about a wrench.

4️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Grandma Berenice because I would always watch Matlock and Knight Rider with her during family visits in the back room of her house while snacking on her diabetic candies.

5️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Grandma Rachel because even though she died when I was pretty young, I do remember loving her very much.

6️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Aunt Joan because she had such a beautiful soul and so much wisdom to share.

7️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Great Aunt Donnie because she is the feistiest person I’ve ever known (and about a million other reasons).

8️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Aunt Miri (Aunt Donnie’s partner) because she exuded elegance, class, confidence, and beauty – and because she always had this perfume that I loved!

9️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Ness, Angel, Nati, Gaby, Bill, and Leslie because I loved having such an amazing family so close to us and having them be such an important part of our life.

🔟 I am infinitely grateful for every sentient being because we all try our hardest – and what that looks like is different for everyone.
