Gratitude Journal: Day 12
November 14, 2020

1️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Ned Dishman – my best man and childhood friend – because today is his bday and he’s a legend in his own time!

2️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for the 4 members of Daditude (my new FB group for dads to say thanks) because every mighty tree started as a teeny seed.

3️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for owning a hot tub because it’s more relaxing than I ever could have imagined.

4️⃣ I am infinitely grateful to have found an online platform to propel me and Carrie through our next phase of business growth because it’s nice to have someone guide ME, for once.

5️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for Yesenia and Bodhi’s surprise visit to my workspace last week because I got to hang out with my kiddo in the middle of the day!

6️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for the weekend because it gives me a chance to disconnect from devices and spend QT with my family.

7️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for all the challenges that arise on the weekends (both internal and external) because they give me yet another chance to bring awareness to stale patterns and beliefs.

8️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for our neighbor Dave who has tons of construction vehicles at their property and always offers Bodhi to come on and use one because even if Bodhi isn’t ready yet, it’s a constant reinforcement of how kind and generous people can be.

9️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for all the clients who pay me money because I work hard and deserve it.

🔟 I am infinitely grateful for new episodes of Star Trek Discovery because I grew up a Trekkie and love each new series.

Why Gratitude?

This morning, I looked to gratitude for help. While it came up short today, I know that it’s a tool like any other. It must be sharpened and maintained.

I believe that all the extra effort I put into these online shares helps amplify the effect of gratitude. I do more than just “write 10 things down.” I turn each day into an art project and focus on it for hours – saying thank you at every step.

That can only be a good thing for my overall ability to stop, breathe, and choose my reaction.
