Gratitude Journal: Day 26
November 28, 2020
1️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for growing up on a small island in the middle of New York City because Roosevelt Island is the perfect mix of big city living with a small-town feel and my experiences there are some of my most special memories in life.
2️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for the 7 years I lived in Washington, DC, because even though I don’t do politics, it was eye-opening to see that town in action.
3️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for the seven months I lived with Carrie in her small Nicaraguan village while she was a Peace Corps volunteer because the eye-opening experience would define the next phase of my life. Even today, my thoughts and actions are still influenced by my time there.
4️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for the two years I lived in San Francisco because they were amongst the most transformative of my life. Fresh off the boat from NYC, I was able to reinvent myself and become the person I wanted to be — not the person I always was.
5️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for the years Carrie and I lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand, because they were the time that I felt most free in my life.
6️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for the year Carrie and I lived in Monte Rio, CA, because it was the perfect bridge between our adventures abroad and “settling down” in California.
7️⃣ I am infinitely grateful to be able to balance running a business as a dad with all of life’s other responsibilities because even though it’s not always easy (and sometimes overwhelming), I know just how lucky I am to have this beautiful life and working opportunity.
8️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for every time Bodhi comes to my office door and says “have a good workday, dada” because it warms my heart and reminds me of exactly why I work from home.
9️⃣ I am infinitely grateful for my ability to grow at least some sort of beard because I’ve had a lot of fun with it over the years.
🔟 I am infinitely grateful for the experience of filming my National Geographic TV show in 2013 because it may have been the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me.
